While I'm not exactly Martha Stewart, I do love to prepare terrific meals for my friends and family. For me, there's nothing more relaxing than spending the whole day trying out different recipes. I often cook or bake the same dish several times over, with just a slight variation in each version as I attempt to make things absolutely perfect. Family members often offer to help with either the cooking or the cleanup, but having too many people around me while I work just serves to throw everything off. Instead, I'd rather use some of my cool kitchen gadgets to help get things done better or faster.
It makes sense that someone who cooks as much as I do would have a bunch of cool kitchen gadgets to play with. But you don't have to be a gourmet chef in order to get a lot of use out of some of these items. For example, the gadget I use most often is a salad spinner. All a salad spinner does is quickly remove excess water from your freshly washed greens by spinning the lettuce leaves around a strainer. That sounds pretty low-tech compared to other cool kitchen gadgets, but trust me, you'll use this nearly every day. It's a lot better than preparing a salad with wet leaves or trying to dry them with a paper towel!
I cannot talk about cool kitchen gadgets without mentioning my french fry cutter. This is a nifty little device that squeezes whole potatoes into perfectly cut fries that are instantly ready for frying. If you have kids or if you're a french fry lover yourself, then this item is a must-have. The fries you make from fresh potatoes taste far better than any of the frozen brands, and with a cutter, you don't have to waste a lot of time cutting each potato by hand.
A list of cool kitchen gadgets has to include some electronic items, so let me tell you about my remote thermometer monitor. This device looks sort of like a baby monitor, with a base and a removable handset. In this case, the base has an attached thermometer that you can put into a steak, chicken breast, or turkey out on the grill. Then you can carry the handset around with you and get instant updates on the temperature of your meat without having to run out to the grill every few minutes. I love it!
And this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as all my cool kitchen gadgets go. I have a bunch more that make everyday tasks and chores a lot quicker and easier to complete. If you enjoy cooking but want to cut down on a lot of the drudgery involved, then you might want to consider picking up a few of these cool kitchen gadgets for yourself. They're affordable and practical, which is a terrific combination!
