Easter Crafts For Kids

You may not think of Easter as a holiday for making crafts, but that doesn't mean you can not come up with some to enjoy with your children, or perhaps with your class if you are a teacher. Crafts are fun for any reasons, holiday, or for no reason at all. Easter crafts can be religious in nature, or they can be about the Easter Bunny. Do what you like and what goes along with your views. You can also think of Easter crafts for kids as crafts for spring in general. That being said, you can probably come up with some ideas on your own, and here are a few that you can try as well.

Easter crafts for kids that are religious in nature can center around rebirth and the miracle of Jesus. You can make collages of what you and your children feel this means to you and your life, and the world as well. You can do simply coloring crafts for younger children, and you can add things to the pictures with brads. Perhaps your children could color where Jesus was buried with a rock that moves over and away from the opening to represent the belief that he rose from the dead.

For more secular Easter crafts for kids, anything revolving around the Easter Bunny or Easter eggs will work just fine. The act of dying and decorating eggs for Easter is a craft in itself. You do not have to settle for single color, dyed eggs if you do not want to. There are many great Easter crafts for kids that are kits to decorate eggs in a more elaborate way. You can even make some of both, or you can buy ceramic eggs that can be decorated for a craft and then saved to display year after year.

Besides eggs, other Easter crafts for kids can be about the Easter Bunny. There are many different ways to make bunnies. You could make bunny shaped cookies to be decorated, or perhaps you can make one on paper that can be colored. Don't forget the cotton balls to make the soft bunny tail. If someone in your home is musical, you can even come up with your own song about Easter and the Easter bunny as a craft. Look in your local craft stores and online for more bunny craft ideas.

Spring and Easter often come around the same time. Some families give kites for Easter gifts, as this is the best time of year to fly them. You can go with the store bought kites if you wish, or you could find directions to make them on your own. Remember, kites need to be sturdy so the wind does not rip them to shreds, so you may want to learn more about kite construction before you choose your materials. Anything else that signifies spring can work for a craft, which leaves the ideas for Easter crafts for kids wide open. Do what you think is fun and then get outside to enjoy the warming weather too.
