Best Reasons to Plan Your Beach Honeymoon

Planning a beach honeymoon can be tricky, but with a little foresight you will have the time of your life no matter where you decide to go. You can travel to Hawaii, Florida, Myrtle Beach, the Bahamas, Jamaica, or even Cuba (yes, Americans can travel there). What matters most is that you are able to relax and enjoy your significant other.

Too many couples these days faced with mounting bills and economic woes either postpone their honeymoons or dont take one at all. This is a big mistake because you will never be able to truthfully utter those famous words: the honeymoons over. Seriously though you want to make this a special time where you can get to know your new hubbie or wife, spend romantic evenings together, and have as much fun as you can before having to go back to the daily grind. A beach honeymoon can accomplish all of these things.

Pick a place that has a great beach that is not too crowded. San Juan, Puerto Rico is a fun town and has great beaches, but it is very packed with tourists and cruise ship folks year round. Same holds true for Waikiki or Fort Lauderdale. You want to be off the beaten path a bit, without having to pay too much for it. Your beach honeymoon should not have to break the bank. With a little planning you can make your dollar stretch.

St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin islands is great once you get away from the port where the cruise ships all stop. There are gorgeous and remote hidden beaches that will take your breath away. You can also go to Varadero Beach in Cuba. Your U.S. dollars will definitely go farther there, but there is a lot of poverty on the island and the beach towns may not have as much diversity as you would expect in a capitalist country.

There are some great resorts near Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. The beaches there are usually privately held by the resorts so there are not as many vendors to harass you while you are trying to soak up the sun. Some of the beaches are clothing optional as are some of the resorts, so take this into consideration when planning your beach honeymoon.

If you are an East Coast couple, you might want to try San Diego or Manhattan Beach near Los Angeles, or even Newport Beach or Malibu. These are great places to enjoy a beach honeymoon. Try Santa Barbara for a truly magnificent getaway with vineyards and great shopping nearby.

All in all, a beach honeymoon has a lot to offer for romantic couples that want to start off their married life with a bang.
