Uses for a Portable Shower

I always have to shake my head in disbelief when I hear the phrase "couch potato". I do not doubt that these kinds of people exist, of course; I just can't believe that anyone would willingly choose to spend their lives in front of a television instead of going outside to do something. I've led an active lifestyle since I was a kid, and can't imagine that ever changing. As long as I've got my van filled with the right equipment, including my portable shower and some extra clothes, and I can be gone for days and days without missing a beat.

What constitutes the right equipment? Well, it depends on what I feel like doing at the time. For example, I love camping, so if I've got my tent and sleeping bags in tow, I'd be perfectly content to spend a few nights under the stars. Having a portable shower would allow me to bypass more expensive campgrounds so I could stay where I really want to. This includes remote areas that only hardcore campers and hikers would ever find, and of course those are the places most worth staying at!

If I had my surfboard in the van, then you'd find me out at the beach trying to ride some waves. Being out on the ocean is one of the most exhilarating feelings I've ever experienced! It's almost impossible trying to explain this to someone who has never been surfing before, so all I can say is get out there and try it for yourself. But make sure you have a portable shower with you, because you're not going to want to get back into your car when you're covered with saltwater and sand.

I also enjoy taking my motocross bike out for a few laps around a track or for some longer trail rides, so this is yet another activity I'd rather be doing than simply watching TV. I've also got a dune buggy that's fun to take out to designated riding areas in the desert. As with camping and the beach, it's always nice to have a portable shower handy to clean myself off and change into fresh clothes before making the long drive back home. I can't imagine ever suffering through a couple hours in the van in my sweaty, sand-filled clothes again!

There used to be a time when only cleanup crews and hazmat teams would carry around a portable shower in their vehicles, but now there are far more affordable models for regular folks as well. If you absolutely need to have hot water while you're showering, you can even purchase a portable shower that attaches to a propane tank for the requisite heat. In other words, if you love the outdoors as much as I do, then buy a portable shower and see for yourself how much better your outings can be!
