Are Your Eating Habits Making You Sick?

There are few women who have not worried about losing weight, even those that do not need to do so. Men worry about weight too, and they often worry about being too thin. Some people feel tired all the time and tend to get sick a lot, and may wonder why. The body can only work with what you give it, so perhaps it is your eating habits that are causing your ill health and weigh worries. If you make a few adjustments to what you already do, you may find a slimmer and better feeling you in the end.

Eating habits are often carried down from generation to generation. Obese children often have obese parents simply because they are learning the same eating habits that their parents have. Those parents learned it from their parents and so on. More than anything else, eating is something that we learn from our parents and those habits are often solidly enmeshed in us by the time we start school. By this time, it is often too late to undo some of the bad habits and replace them with good habits, but don't think that means you shouldn't try to do just that.

Your bad eating habits are learned, but you can learn new ones. You can use common sense when thinking about what you are eating and what you should be eating. When you eat something that makes you feel unwell, no matter how good it feels going in, you have to avoid that food to avoid that feeling. Eat less of it, or none of it, and see if you don't feel better. While there are good fats, too much of it can really harm your body. There are good carbs and bad carbs, and until you learn to eat the good ones and avoid the bad ones, you are at risk for all types of medical problems, with obesity being just one of them.

If you have bad eating habits, you have to avoid passing them on to your children. There are many moms out there that are overweight but have healthy, slim children. This is because they know their eating habits are bad, and even though they can not seem to eat well for themselves, they have made sure their children have learned differently right from the start. Don't worry though, as you can start teaching them better habits later on, it is just going to be met with some resistance. Be firm though, so your children can remain healthy. It is one gift you should give them no matter what.

Those with bad eating habits can always turn things around. It is hard. Some who diet and fail complain that no one understands how hard it can be, but most people do understand. Instead of falling back into old eating habits because a radical diet change was too much, try to change a few things at a time. Don't expect perfection at first, just change one or two things. After some time has passed and you are doing well with those few things, change a few more. Before you know it, you will have better habits, and will feel a whole lot better too.
